The Impossible List, superimposed over an impressive goal - the summit of Katahdin

The best way to accomplish goals is to write them down and hold yourself accountable. Writing down your short and long term goals will increase your goal completion. Therefore I created an Impossible List, an evolving list of actionable items, which is below. As I accomplish a task, I will add a task seemingly more difficult. For instance, if I accomplish the goal – “Grow blog to 100 subscribers,” I may decide that my next goal is to “Grow blog to 1000 subscribers.”

An Impossible List takes large goals and makes them manageable. Checking off manageable goals creates momentum for future success. Additionally, an Impossible List narrates the progress towards your goals. As items are checked off, they provide context for the progress made towards loftier goals. Joel Runyon established the Impossible List concept and wrote about it here.
